the desk check
ten yes or no questions about the calls, refunds, and cancellations you’ve been meaning to get to. at the end: the letter ren would send for you.
The desk check is a one-minute quiz from ren, the personal concierge that does the hard things. Ten yes or no statements about the errands people put off: hearing the hold music long enough to know where it loops; paying for a gym you have not visited since spring; a company somewhere that owes you money and is betting you will forget; a restaurant with only a 5pm or a 9:45; being queue position 24,051 with your card already out; keeping a subscription because cancelling meant talking to a person; a form for the DMV, a passport, or an insurer that you have been about to do for weeks; saying it is fine about a charge that was not fine; knowing exactly when reservations drop and never being free at that moment; a show you still think about because you never got in. At the end, ren counts the open loops on your desk and shows the letter it would send on your behalf. ren places real phone calls, waits on hold, navigates websites, fills in forms, and keeps following up until the task is done. It is in private beta on iOS; you can request an invitation from the result page or the homepage.
