Dear Insurance, appeal number two.

ren is a personal concierge that fights the denial: the reason code, the paperwork, the internal appeal, and the external review after that.

‘Not medically necessary’ is a phrase, not a verdict. Most denials die because nobody appeals. ren appeals: it finds the stated reason, gathers what refutes it, files on time, and follows the case number wherever it goes.

The task

why denials win by default

Insurers deny at scale because appeals arrive at a trickle. The process is built to be forfeited.

  • The denial letter buries the actual reason in a code, and the appeal path in fine print.
  • Appeals have deadlines, forms, and send-it-to-a-different-address rules that reset the clock if you miss one.
  • Most plans owe you an internal appeal, and after that an independent external review. Few people use either.
  • The phone tree between you, the insurer, and the provider’s billing office has no exit.
What ren does

how ren fights it

ren treats a denial as a case to unwind, not a verdict to accept.

  • Reads the denial and identifies the stated reason and the deadline.
  • Calls the insurer and gets the missing specifics on the record: what exactly would make this covered.
  • Works the phones with the provider’s office to gather the supporting documents.
  • Files the internal appeal, correctly and on time, and confirms it was received.
  • If the internal appeal fails, takes it to the independent external review most plans must offer.
  • Keeps every call, name, and reference number in one running record.

ren checks with you before filing anything in your name and before accepting any outcome.

What it needs

The denial letter, your plan details, and your go ahead. Forward what the insurer sent; ren does the reading.

Questions

questions, answered

Is appealing an insurance denial actually worth it?

Yes. A meaningful share of appealed denials get overturned, at internal review and again at external review. The system counts on silence; an appeal is the loudest thing you can file.

What is an external review?

After the insurer’s own appeal, most plans must let an independent third party re-decide the case, and the insurer is bound by the result. It is the step almost nobody reaches, and it exists precisely for cases like ‘that was covered.’

How fast do I have to act?

Deadlines vary by plan, often measured in months from the denial date, and shorter for urgent care. ren’s first move is finding your deadline and getting ahead of it.

Can ren talk to my insurance company?

Yes, with your authorization. Insurers handle authorized representatives all the time. ren identifies itself honestly and works your case with your authority.
